For Global Peace with Social Justice in a Sustainable Environment

Gandhi and wildlife protection + global warming.

The movement of Gandhi was a very unique one. and the scale on which it is done is simply unbelivable.
According to me it was not only about India's independence, it was about personality and social building. It talkes about the how the basic structure of the society should be and on what basis.

It had a very strong philosophical background plus social engineering.
thats why he got the success which hardly any leader or institution in the world can achieve.
It was a movement which reached to common people, carriedout by common man for whole society's benefit.
study of Social economics and politics of it can be useful even in solving todays problems such as wildlife protection and global warming.

Nearly all the NGO's follow the same path in one or the other way, but still more efforts should be done in involving common man into it, and thats where Gandhi's social engineering can guide us.

what you say?

I believe it was his brilliant sense of fairness against the backdrop of terrible inequity that was so appealing to the masses. He spoke the truth with boldness and humility, that is not an easy feat. I greatly admire him. Thank you for sharing :D
This is also a subject close to my heart. Our book, Earth Ethics of M.K. Gandhi with Teachings from Holy Mother Amma, seeks to explicate the role of India in his ethical development, and the awarenesses he held the practices and tools he used and observances or vows he followed to activate his own Earth ethical dialogue and the communities he created to apply his principles in ecological contexts. Not yet to the press, a few snags in the pipeline, hopefully I will be able to say something concretely about its availability soon....this isn't meant to be an advertisement, please forgive me if it sounds like that....I'm impatient to share it with the world, but need God's Grace....and I guess, your prayers.
Gandhi was ultimately, non-sectarian, a simple and great Human being, who had uncovered within himself the ways and means to cultivate his Humane-ity. Such an attitude naturally took in the whole of Creation in its embrace. He learned from everything in Nature, the stars, the ocean, the earth and skies. He credited cats with teaching him how all creation handles its personal waste responsibly - which humans have yet to learn....he credited mice for showing him the nature of the mind...From Palm trees, snakes, from everything, his open eyes and kind heart took encouragement and lessons in his ever-evolving understanding of Ahimsa....
Best,
Aunty Kamala
