Why are you interested in the Gandhi-King Community?
I am passionate about Social Justice and literacy.

A beautiful poem by a beautiful person...

I was born in Africa,
Land of thousand beauties,
Riches beyond compare,
And nest of endless love

I stand tall and strong,
Beautiful mind and soul,
Inherited I know
From my sweet motherland

My heart beats the drums
Of love for my cradle;
My soul blends with nature
That she taught me to love

The speed of the leopard,
Strength of the elephant,
Grace of the butterfly,
All are engraved in me.

The dark color of my skin,
Gift from the kings and queens,
Who fought for our freedom,
Indeed a blessing it is.

The struggles of my people,
Battles and endless wars,
Have made me a warrior,
In quest of love and peace

I was born in Africa,
Land of thousand beauties,
Riches beyond compare,
And nest of endless love.
