Dr. Jagdish Chandra Jain and Mahatma Gandhi

 

Dr. Jagdish Chandra Jain was a basically communist. He was born in 1909, in Baseda, a small village in Uttar Pradesh. Dr. J.C. Jain’s father died in his childhood.  So he faced many problems related poverty. He did a hard work and faced many problems. He had taken his primary education in his village primary school. It was like Gurukul. He studied of Sanskrit, Jain literature and Ayurveda in BHU, Banaras, Uttar Pradesh. He began his career as a school teacher at Ajmer in Rajasthan. He was very impressed with Gandhian Philosophy and his principals. But later he influenced by communist thought. When he was objected by his headmaster wearing of the Gandhi-cap, Dr. Jain left his job. After a long period He came to Mumbai and worked as a professor at the Ram Narain Ruia College. He taught Hindi, Sanskrit and Prakrit over 30 years. In 1948, he was the Chief Witness in the Gandhi Murder Trial held at the Red Fort, Delhi. Main victim of this case Madanlal Pahwa was selling his books and he gave his commotions for it. One day he came to him and told I want to some money for going to Delhi. When Professor Jain arose a question, then he told he was going for a murder of Gandhiji. He informed to Morarji Desai, home minister of Maharashtra. During Gandhiji trial he faced court and said about it.
