- Why are you interested in the Gandhi-King Community?
- I am a college student studying civil engineering. I have the greatest respect for the courage of King and Gandhi. I believe in compassion. I prefer peace because I believe it frees people to discover their own humanity.
I am a student leader at my school. I am particularly concerned with the fact that access to higher education is escaping the grasp of more and more Americans as the cost of education increase.
I am inspired by Gandhi's ideas for self-sustaining campuses. I also agree with King when he reminded us that a critical component of education is the fostering of good character.
