Looking for quote on nonviolence and the future

Hi All,

I remember reading a quote that I can't seem to find again.  I thought you all could help me.  I don't remember if it was Gandhi or King commenting on Gandhi.

The quote talked about the future possibilities of nonviolence and how we can't possibly know yet how many applications there are for nonviolence.  Perhaps it mentioned something about future generations who will lead the way?  Infinite possibilities of the application of nonviolence?

Does this idea ring any bells for people on a quote?

Thanks for your help!

Principle 6:  "The universe is on the side of justice."-MLK's principles

and

"If you succumb to the temptation of using violence in the struggle, unborn generations will be the recipients of a long and desolate night of bitterness, and your chief legacy to the future will be an endless reign of meaningless chaos."
Martin Luther King, Jr.

Thanks Laura!  Love that quote.  It was not the one I remember, but I'm glad you posted it.  Powerful stuff...

MLK said about the sixth principle...

The sixth principle is that the nonviolent resister must have a ‘‘deep faith in the future,’’ stemming from the conviction that ‘‘the universe is on the side of justice’’ (King, Stride, 88).

Since being in India, I am more convinced than ever before that the method of nonviolent resistance is the most potent weapon available to oppressed people in their struggle for justice and human dignity. In a real sense, Mahatma Gandhi embodied in his life certain universal principles that are inherent in the moral structure of the universe, and these principles are as inescapable as the law of gravitation.-MLK

"Woman is more fitted than man to make exploration and take bolder action in nonviolence... There is no occasion for women to consider themselves subordinate or inferior to men....Woman is the companion of man, gifted with equal mental capacity....If by strength is meant moral power, then woman is immeasurably man's superior....If nonviolence is the law of our being, the future is with women..." -Gandhi

Maybe the woman quote?

Very impressive quotes are given here.
