Martin Luther King (and Julia Howe) on War

In the latter years of his life, Dr. King would speak openly against the war in Vietnam. His "three evils" were racism, poverty, and war. His used the platform that he was given by God himself to declare a moral voice to America and let the world know that violence and poverty were wrong.



Dr. King would use the same message to different audiences, yet he knew who his audience was and his message was still the same!

The Pope's Easter message

I admire the Pope's message as we reflect the Easter season. As men and women of faith, we must pray to God for the end of war. Our president is in the midst of making very crucial decisions. My heart goes out to the families of our men and women over in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dr. King's three evils were racism, poverty, and war. I agree as well. Easter Weekend.....1963!!!



Dr. Martin Luther King was arrested in Birmingham, AL for helping to fight for racial equality. Instead of fighting the police and racism, he kneeled in prayer to God along with many others. While in jail, he wrote the famous "Letter from a Birmingham Jail!" A letter in response to criticism from local Birmingham preachers urging him to call off the protests in the city.
