Why are you interested in the Gandhi-King Community?: I am an Associate Professor of Political Science at Lehigh University.

My specialty is Comparative Politics, with a focus on China. I wrote my dissertation on women's labor in reform-era China. My current project analyses how the Communist Party of China has used its relations with African states and the African-American Civil Rights Movement - its relationship with Blackness - in the international arena of foreign relations.

I became interested in Communist China when my sister worked with and joined the Black Panther Party. So, issues of trans-racial solidarities has long motivated my intellectual life and my political activism.
