- Why are you interested in the Gandhi-King Community?
- Both my professional and academic careers have been dedicated to understanding and celebrating the diversity of the various cultures that weave the distinct fabric of our community. I have spent the past 20 years as an educator devoted to working in urban education in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am just optimistic enough to believe that our young children naturally teach us how to celebrate diversity. That is why I am so appreciative of the years I have worked with our youth. For it is the young who bring the following assertion of Maya Angelou to life: “we are more alike than we are unalike”. It is this belief that guides me as an educator and as a member of the human race.
