Steven Spielberg is the largest grossing movie director in history. In 1993, he directed Schindler's List, based on Thomas Keneally's Booker Prize-winning Holocaust novel. Spielberg has since devoted all of his earnings from the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation, and the Righteous Persons Foundation.
