This month start from June till September we always make a program Dharma Ashram for the youth. They participate in the camp where we have dialogue and workshop. We are gathering to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Ashram Gandhi Puri CC Ashram Gandhi Puri, United Religions Initiative and Culture Care Society. A new culture has been eroding and starting to replace the high culture in Bali, Indonesia. Modern, practical, popular ang funky are the new culture. Even though not all people understand whether the new culture is practical culture or just a embarrassing thing. The culture resulting from the modernization ingrained in the western culture is attractive and followed by people,especially the young generations. It was the grand theme discussed in dialogue facilitated by Ahimsa Satya Karuna CC and Ashram Gandhi Puri CC was held on Tuesday,June 16th 2009 at Ashram Gandhi Puri “SEVAGRAM” about 150 young leaders and spiritual leaders joined the collective dialogue. These people care about Indonesian development nowdays, from a cultural perspective.They regret that the youngsters do not recocnize the culture of etiquette or hard working habit into get something better for themselves and for others as well. They worry about the next generations of this nation how keep adopting this new culture. If so,then Indonesia,especially Bali will lose its local wisdom. It is the television program that keeps on showing all the modern cultures. Tv program that keeps on showing all the the modern cultures. Tv program has been like a school for everyone. Unfortunately, TV and other Indonesia medias rarely make good news as news. Instead they make bad news as news. These concerns were brought up during the lively dialogue. After watching the URI We Unite video and a movie entitled Spiritual Journey of Dialogue, the participants all agreed that Bali Indonesia will be very beautiful if we can preserve and keep its local culture and wisdom,and make these intentions as our guidance in life. This awareness must be built by the family and the early education. Only Family can give good examples and inspire young generations. On Saturday,June 20th, 2009 The Vice Presidents of Indonesia M. Jusuf Kallaa received all the Ashram Gandhi Puri CC members under BR Indra Udayana as a leader to discuss more about Community Dialogue through Education Culture Care Society. In the one our meetings, we were supported by the vice president to continue our Project in Interfaith Dialogue for Young People. BR Indra Udayana give the Vice President the small statue of Mahatma Gandhi as a thank you.
