Medicines of Itching– Mahatma Gandhi
Itching is a common problem. Mahatma Gandhi had done a lot of experiments on it. When Mahatma Gandhi knew that his associate Vitthal L. Phadake is suffering by itching through Ramprasad, then he wrote a letter to him and gives the natural medicines and tells its natural process also. Mahatma Gandhi wrote, “Ramprasad tells me that you are very much troubled by the itch. If you are eating dal, give it up. Take the juice of as many lemons as you can, eat uncooked onions, chew one tola of uncooked luni or spinach. If you have no teeth, crush the bhaji and eat it. Sit in cold water in the afternoon and wrap the whole body with a wet sheet. Eat ranges, mosambis and other fruits if available. Eat less of starchy foods. Take milk and curds. And take soda-bi-crab regularly. If you do this, the itch will disappear.” 1
