Why are you interested in the Gandhi-King Community?
I'm interested in the Gandhi-King Community because Dr. Paloma was my instructor at New College and studying under her made an impact on my life as a person and as a professional educator. My home is in Perry County Alabama where Dr. King's wife Coretta was born and raised. I teach social studies in a soci-economically deprive are of Alabama know as the Black Belt. I have also started a company and have initiated the Green Belt Project which aims at bringing sustainable energy solutions to this area which lacks innovative leadership or economic opportunity. Being a member of the Gandhi-King community will hopefully provide the support that I need to infuse my students and community to put into action, what these two me gave their lives for--economic and social justice which leads to a peaceful existence at home on our green planet earth.
