Why are you interested in the Gandhi-King Community?: Sridhar Shanmugam, one of India’s well known choreographers leads the dance movement aspect of the Path to Peace program. He has toured around the world over the past two decades, working with many of the world’s most famous artists. Sharing the stage with Pina Bausch, Suzanna Linke, and countless others, Sridhar has been an international ambassador and pilgrim for the arts. A core member of Chandralekha’s groundbreaking modern dance company as well as the Cultural Centre in Chennai, . His exacting training in Bharatnatyam traditional Indian dance, Rangoli painting, contemporary dance, acting, and other interrelated disciplines, gave him the basis with which to step onto any stage or into any classroom, to mingle as easily with heads of state as well as the underprivileged. His fondness for children keeps him in classrooms always, where he enjoys choreographing for youth or conducting intensive counseling via arts and open communication. Currently, He heads a non profit - The ARCH, Inc in New York.
