We would welcome a visit by Ghandi King foundation members such as yourself,Clayton Carsons and eveyone else who want sto come on a Trasnfaith healing and reconciliation visist to Mother England.
Indeed,Bristol city, second financial important city which considers itself to be one of the tenth important city in the world and home to Merchent Venturers, whose members include Prince Charles and Duke of Edinburgh and only allowed one member which was PM Margaret Thatcher and also included Winston Churchiil,UK war lord,pm amd sea lord also it is infamous as many of the merchents were slave traders and bristol got rich on tainted money and many leading light were christians, white bretherens who did not see any thing wrong in it as they believed and some still do that they have dominion over all Gods creation, including darkies,women-be they white ,brown, black etc and children and animals.
The city celebrated the two hundreth annivesary of end of slave trade last year after securing funding of over a million dollars and the city has now also got a trail of slave trade and also there are still dungeons where slaves were kept before being shipped williy nilly to west indies, america etc.
we did our bit to bring healing, reconciliation and forgiveness of sins by having annual lamp procession in Bristol with a wooden cross which was carried by late Salim Allibhai,a Muslim bretherns with Priest and parishoners from st.Ambrose Church,an anglican Church, with catholic Priest Kevin Mortimer from St.Mary on the Quay Church and Hindu pious lady late Yashuben Amlani,MBE and some English Buddhists where by we lowered the blessed cross in the river which brought slaves to the heart of bristol at Harbourside and cleansed and healed it by pouring Holy water from river Ganges and lifting up the cross which had been dipped into the water to the rousing music of Handels Messiah and singing of Hymns to celebrate birthday of Christ and then going to St.Marys church at St.Augustines parade for some Glu wine and mince pies or a cuppa tea and then wishing everyone good will and lighting candels and making speeches to make the world a better place.
Indeed there is a Peros bridge in the city named after the freed slave. There is also a famous friend Reverend Dawncia Palmer mentored by Bishop Declan who runs a prayer patrol in the city as there has been much drug dealing and murders in the city.Reverend is afro carribean and could have become the first woman bishop if she had wanted to and has an office at Malcolm X centre.
So by coming to bristol and raising awareness of how American africans and indians have made progress in USA ,it may help to heal some sof the old wounds and progress a multi cultural multi faith society in uk as there are still some hang ups.eg we have constant conflicts about Edward Colstons statue in city centre and also a concert hall named Colstons hall(a concert hall and a music centre for the public),recently refurbished with over fifty million dollars of public money as Edward Colston a leading light of the city in the past made his fortune from slave trade.Edward did leave a legacy of alm houses and schools in the city. But the city fathers refused to apologise for slave trade and claimed that they didnt do it but have signed a book of regret and the Dean of Bristol cathedral .Rt.Reverend grimley told me when I suggested a service of repentence and a day of atonement that it would upset the desendants of slave trade who are still very trong in the city.I had suggested the service of remorse, atonement and repentence to the dean before the new milleniu dawned as a new chapter and a new beginning but alas to no avail.Nelson Mandela refused to come to bristol in the year of the slave trade end marking the 200 yea anniversay at the behest and request of leading human rights activist. So if President Obama came with a good group of black marines and Gurkhas and rajpoots ,red indians and vetrans of Abrham Lincolns Army of General Grant and pathans in USA army and marched through bristol and told the lads at bristol merchent ventureros to behave themsleves and prostrate for thier sins, then perhaps Royal henchmen and troopers and coppers will also fall in line as UK folks dont mess around with americans and yanks.phew what a thought. But alas what can one do but trouble shoot for a better world with ideas which can lead one into trouble. Thanks be to God for folks of courage who risk thier necks to do something usefull and turn injustice into humanity and righteousness such as Reverend Martin Luther King as we pray St.Francis of Assissis prayer ,Let me the channel of peace through dialogue, events and trouble shooting as Jesus Christ said that you will always be hearing and not comprhending and always be seeing but not fathoming.
