- Why are you interested in the Gandhi-King Community?
- I am interested in the Gandhi-King Community because I believe connecting local struggles to a shared global struggle to be important. Our efforts for peace, justice, acceptance, and respect - for humans and all forms of life - should not be restricted to one type of struggle. I am a White female, and the experienced inequalities of a poor Indian man halfway across the world are just as important to me and my own sense of justice and equality, as they should be for every human. One person's struggle for peace and justice should be every human's concern. It has an impact on all of us - it defines our very humanity and what it means to be human. Incorporating a sense of common humanity and shared human experience to world issues is very important if change is to be realized, and I think this Community does an excellent job of this.
