My latest book: “Human Rights from the Dalits Perspective”, a collection of articles on Human Rights for Dalits from 20 scholars with 380 pages will be good source material for both the academia and the activists, Published by : Gyan Books (P) Ltd. 5 Ansari Road, New Delhi - 110 002. This book portrays the efforts taken to bring the Dalit. Discrimination issues under the purview of Human Rights since 1985, similar to the apartheid in South Africa. MY mission: India has played a leading role in the United Nations Human Rights Commission activities and meetings. Human Rights paradigm is therefore appropriate and relevant to deal with Dalit discrimination issues to end the violence based on caste discrimination, which is confronting our people in our country.
In order to make India truly a progressive nation in the world and to achieve the goals of the new millennium of the UN, it is imperative to end caste discrimination. In recognition of my services, the UN Alumni Award given by the WAFUNIF, on September 25, 1998 for “advancing the goals and principles in the charter of the United Nations through the promotion of education for peace, development, and all human rights for all especially for the poor and disadvantaged at the grass-roots level…” The citation of the Seva Ratna Award given in 1998 by the Centenarian Trust described me: "a real friend of blossoms in the dust, a rare dedicated worker to uplift the oppressed, suppressed and the depressed".

I am committed to prevent societal violence through educational programmes to create a "violence-less" society, by organizing youth camps, for which I established a multi-purpose Training Centre for Dalit Youth, the DELTA TRAINING CAMPUS, at the River Palar Delta Region, near Chennai. This Centre is integrating Human Rights with sustainable development prepares young people to become community organizers and leaders to face the challenges of 21st Century. You are welcome to visit the Delta Training Centre in the beautiful campus. My Integrated Human Rights Education Project.reached about 1000 villages in about ten year period. An outstanding achievement of is that in two year period 28 Para legal training workshops were organized spread over 18 districts in which large number of women participated.
