Why are you interested in the Gandhi-King Community?
I have had a deep interest in Gandhi and King since I was in secondary school, many decades ago. I maintained my interest in graduate school and focused studies on justice and communties of color in the US. I worked with Professors Earl Lewis and Ron Takaki, who expand my knowledge and quest to other regions. Recently, I taught middle school and was surprized by my student's fundamental misunderstandings and lack of knowledge about our past and present. This situation motivated me to study and revise my curriculum and to find ways to increase student interst.
