- Why are you interested in the Gandhi-King Community?
- I am one of those fortunate grandchild whose grandparents worked for the freedom of India with Gandhi. As a child, for a very long time I called him 'Bapu' as I didn't know his name is Gandhi. Then, later as an adult I moved to USA where I learnt about Martin Luther King Jr and what he did for the civil rights in this country. I am involved with a Buddhist non-profit SGI. Our president and mentor Diasaku Ikeda talks a lot about Gandhi and King and use their words and actions as influence. This is when I got to learn more about King. I am interested in joining this community to learn what I may not know and share whatever I do.
