Why are you interested in the Gandhi-King Community?
Charleen Touchette is Realizing the Dream's New Mexico Coordinator with her daughter Liesette Paisner, a student at the University of New Mexico. Touchette is an artist, author and activist and President of TouchArt ltd based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Author of the award-winning, banned book IT STOPS WITH ME and NDN ART, Touchette writes One Earth Blog and mentors young artists through TouchArt Salon. She write articles on eco-living at EcoHearth.com e-zine and shares indigenous thinking for everyone on her "Messages from the Earth" blog. Charleen Touchette is a board member for Dine' Be' 'Iina-Navajo Lifeway, Inc., which works to support and teach Navajo Lifeways and sustainable sheep and fiber production in Navajo Nations.
Touchette is a lifelong peace activist and multicultural facilitator. She works to nurture creativity, shares solutions for sustainable living, broadcasts news on indigenous and women's issues and the arts, and networks to address poverty and inequality and extend human rights for all to help create a world with peace and justiceeverywhere.
