In 1988, Chandralekha was the chief choreographer for the opening events of the Inaugural functions of 'The Festival of India' in the USSR. She has also been chief conceptualiser and curator of two major exhibitions - 'The World is my Family', for the Gandhi Centenary Year, Delhi, 1969 and 'Stree - Women of India', Krimsky Hall, Moscow, 1988, for 'The Festival of India', USSR. Vibhuti Patel was part of the team of researchers of "Women of India" and was conducting 3 workshops in a day on Feminist songs, folk songs capturing women's lives from different parts of India and classical songs for Russian citizens during March, 1988. There were 8 workshops-Block printing, karnatak music, mehndi, feminist music, classical dance, folk painting, terracotta and puppetry.
