Event Description

We will be holding a wonderful Spanish Civil War workshop series on consecutive Saturdays (April 18 and 25) at the Alameda County Office of Education in Hayward. The official flyer and registration form are available at http://www.acoe-historycurrents.blogspot.com/. We’re delighted to be able to sponsor this series, which will be run by the Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives – see their website (http://www.alba-valb.org/) to get an idea of how strong they are as a center for sharing the experiences of those who fought the good fight in that struggle. This will be great not only for history teachers, but also for language arts and VPA teachers given the connections to well-known writers, artists and others who were integrally involved in the cause. The perks for participants are great, beyond the important subject matter – stipend, LOTS of materials, etc. (see the flyer for details). There are only six slots still available, so please share out these materials with teachers in your networks and encourage them to register as soon as possible – or, even better, sign up yourself, too!
