Why are you interested in the Gandhi-King Community?
I am a veteran journalist, former newspaper reporter, now working as a freelance writer and editor. Although I have left the newsroom, I remain a public servant and delight in meeting others who are committed to doing the "people's" work.
I serve on the board of directors for the Center for Independent Living in Berkeley, the nation's first civil rights organization run by and for people with disabilities.
Very cool, Yomi-san. How's the freelance world treating you? Do we have a movement, yet, for editorial justice (for reporters)? Seriously, good luck. Too many knowledgeable writers getting turned out the door\, also to the detriment of the public.
