Hi Fadi. Read about your ideas in Time Magazine (I assume that was you?). I would love to meet you - I have a history of supporting peace efforts from the Israeli side - maybe you could email me to gk (at) zvi.net

Dear Fadi, sorry to have taken so long to respond to your e-mail. Had to meet the deadlines for a couple of magazine articles.

The rest of my pilgrimage to other major Gandhian places was ideeply fulfilling. I am glad I ventured to go on my own to see three major cities in Saurashtra (GAndhi region): Porbandar (the house where he was born); Rajkot(father "Kaba Gandhi-no-Dehlo" or residence--where Mohandas spent his mid-childhood, his troubled adolescence and attended Alfred High School); and Bhavnagar, where he attended only one semester at the then newly opened "Shamaldas College." Thereafter, I went to Gandhi's Wardha Sevagram Ashram (in Maharashtra) to participate in the celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi's 139th Birth-anniversary programs which included the first ever International Film-festival. For two days I had the biggest thrill of watching several films on Gandhi and Gandhi-related themes of peace, nonviolence and constructive, humanitarian projects. The last but not the least significant historical landmark I visited was The "Dandi Salt-satyagraha" site from where Gandhi picked up a pinch of salt in defiance of the British monopoly and taxation on salt.

Thanks for asking, Fadi, I have narrated in detail my Gandhi pilgrimage experiences in one of the magazine-articles which should be published in about two months.

I'd like to know about your further studies and other projects. Keep in touch when time permits and write to me when you feel like.

With lots of love and warm wishes,

Uma Majmudar

Hi Dear Fadi, greetings from Uma Majmudar from Atlanta, Georgia! Just read your para from Dr. King's last speech. It's so powerful and inspiring, it is an all-time legacy of his faith and vision for humanity. Also viewed all the pictures posted by Dr. Carson of our recent "incredible journey to the land of Gandhi." Nice to get connected again. It's always a pleasure to reunite with our "Gandhi-King" community.

All the best,

Uma Majmudar

Hi Fadi,
Welcome to the Community. I've traveled to the West Bank some years ago but not to Ramallah. I look forward to talking with you after I return to Stanford on May 19th.
